Two Omanis Shoot 19 People Around Muscat Oman ....

Two Omani shabab were very recently apprehended by ROP investigations. The two Omanis admitted to shooting at least 19 people with a traditional type gun (in Arabic a 'kasar كسر') over the last month in the Muscat area. The first shooting took place in Ansab, and then continued in Seeb, Al Khoud, Al Amerat, Wadi Kabir, Al Kuwair and Gubra. The motive is unknown.

The victims were of Indian, Pakistani and Omani origin. Some of those who were shot are still undergoing treatment. However, thanks to god no one was mortally wounded. Apparently,  the two on the shooting spree used a four-wheel to shoot and flee. The two shooters were identified as Saud Al Abri and Abi Al Harthy.

This may be a first of its kind as far as random shooting sprees go in Oman. In order to have guns in Oman you must be licensed; however, old hunting guns are still around especially in villages.

  5. see the men made a mistake paid the blood money now what. , why people making this a big issue ??

and this whole media hype. have made it being shown as if they were shot with real weapons

a .22 or .177 air pellet can never be lethal at the ranges that those animals were shot , those rounds are used for small pests and birds

if any one knows Wound ballistics will know that an air gun round does not have lethality unless fired from point blank range. the range that those expacts were shot those pellets would hardly cause much injury

    1. It's a shame you were not one of the victims of this simple air gun attack! We would then see how you feel and what your comment would be!

    1. Thanks for your comment. As far as I know , not all the victims accepted the 'blood money' including the few Omani victims.

  7. people make mistakes and if they repent their action they must be forgiven
forgiveness is in our religion , they are also some ones son , brother , father
resentment of Expats is only natural when the Sons of the Soil dont get jobs it happens in all countries
look in most of the companies Towell , Suhail Bahwan , Saud Bahwan , Al Hashr , Zubair ,MHD you will see majority expats mostly Indians and it is a fact that Bias takes place Omanis are not given jobs for being presumed to be lazy this is the attitude of the expats

will any of these Expats tolerate if outside nationals work in their countries while they themselves don't have jobs ?

ask these questions on what is the root cause of problems here .

    1. The fact is, that there are many locals who expect work to be always easy and cannot tolerate any kind of physical labour or effort. We employ young Omanis but are careful to get people willing to work. It's a fact that many Omanis do not want to work.
I suggest that we send home all Asian labourers, mechanics, electricians, masons, plumbers, tire repairers, painters, plasterers, technicians, IT specialists and then let's see what becomes of your new house, or your company when faced with only Omani staff!
